The cloud has emerged as the next platform for innovation and speed, given the advances in cloud technology and maturity of cloud offerings in the marketplace. The successful examples and stories of organizations taking their workloads to the cloud has resulted in many organizations adopting a me-too approach. However, in their rush to move applications to the cloud, many organizations adopted a random approach to migrate apps, while cutting corners along the way for the sake of advancing to the next stage. Others, on the other hand, adopted a methodical approach to think, plan, and carefully consider which workloads are appropriate for cloud migration. In this session, we compare both approaches and provide a proven methodology for migrating applications to the cloud, and GCP in particular. In addition, we will share lessons learned and customer examples (good and bad) on how to be in control of the app migration journey to the cloud to achieve desired success.
